Young Explorers Grades 5-6

Young Explorers Grades 5-6: Exploration invites discovery. Get closer than you’ve ever been to animals of all sizes, shapes and origin. Make new lifelong friends as you trek together around the world of Busch Gardens. Discover rainbow-colored lorikeets, giant tortoises, and charming orangutans from Southeast Asia. Gear up in wet suits and jump into the main aquarium to snuba at the Florida Aquarium. Safari across the Serengeti Plain on a flat bed truck to observe zebra and impala, and meet giraffe face-to-face. Adventurous exploring at its best!

Eco Voyage Grades 7-9: Calling all inquiring minds…Are you curious about how animals live together; wonder how they fit into their environment? Then come camp with us at Busch Gardens. Prepare yourself for a few fast-paced days with this mini camp. Visit with large and small creatures of the land and sea. From rhinos and zebra grazing the Serengeti Plain to belugas and polar bears cruising through arctic pools at SeaWorld, this camp is a “natural selection”!

Zookeeping 201 Grades 10 – college: Take zookeeping to the next level. This camp is a real-life, hands-on experience at one of the nation’s largest zoos. Let Busch Gardens’ staff introduce you to the world of animal care; from flying foxes to lowland gorillas and kangaroos. Work alongside expert zookeepers and observe animal behavior training methods and engage in up-close animal encounters. Dive into the marine world for a day at SeaWorld, and hold your hands high as you scream down some of the Southeast’s fastest roller coasters at both parks. A true first-hand experience of zookeeping at its finest! (Zookeeping 101 recommended as a pre-requisite).

Zookeeping 101 Grades 10-12: You can’t get any closer to animals than this! Be ready for a sweat-and-get-dirty adventure at a world class zoological facility. Busch Gardens’ seasoned staff will introduce you to the challenges of caring for species such as crocodilians, big cats, great apes, flamingos, and many, many more. Zoo Careers Grades 11 – college: Considering a vocation in an animal care field? Zookeeping is hard work. In this program you are guaranteed to work hard, and get sweaty and dirty in the process. Animal husbandry in a world class zoo includes everything from scrubbing and raking, checking weights, to preparing food, and so much more. The pay-off is big—satisfaction in a job well done while learning amazing animal facts from the experts and watching the animals thrive. This program is in an immersive zoo exploration. Participants work behind the scenes all day long under the guidance of professional zookeepers, attend training workshops and study animal nutritional guidelines. This camp is a career maker!

Zoo Apprentice Grades 11-College

Zoo Apprentice Adventure Camp Grades College: Prepare to audition for a hardcore zoo reality camp! This mini version of Zoo Careers without frills is an intense exploration of one select animal zoo area. It’s a hard day and night’s work at the zoo, so prepare to get hot and tired while practicing your husbandry skills under the eyes of watchful keepers. This program offers insight about managing a world class zoological facility with opportunities to interact with zoo staff and receive valuable career guidance. Accompany zookeepers through their morning responsibilities as they open exhibits and get the day started. Later, it’s time for the other perspective. Meet up with them once again in the evening to close out and bed down the animals. Come walk in a "keeper’s boots" for a few short days.
